PDF 1.6 conspiracy?

PDF 1.6 conspiracy?

I have some troubles with pdf 1.6 file structure.

Example:

25 0 obj
<<
/Metadata 3 0 R/
Names 32 0 R/Outlines 7 0 R/Pages 16 0 R/SpiderInfo 22 0 R/StructTreeRoot
10 0 R/Type/Catalog>>
endobj
...
Object Pages is 16 0 obj. But its not exists in file.

In all pdf format documents(on adobe site) they are examples only for pdf
1.4 specification, even specification for 1.7 have exmples only for 1.4. I
cant find anything for 1.6. In adobe acrobat 11 that i use, by default its
saves to 1.6.
